Help Flip the U.S. House in 2026!

We’re San Francisco Peninsula volunteers working hard to win close races that will secure Democratic majorities in D.C. and key states. Engage in effective actions with us - you'll have great impact.

We Prioritize California's Central Valley

CA-13: California's 13th Congressional District. Democrat Adam Gray is the incumbent, having won the seat by just 187 votes in 2024!  This seat is "Must Hold" per Swing Left

CA-22: California's 22nd Congressional District (situated in the Central Valley between Fresno and Bakersfield). The incumbent is Republican David Valadao. We can flip CA-22, per Swing Left!

I want to help! Where do I start?

Digging in with the grassroots

Ask a grassroots leader how you can help and you may hear about canvassing, phonebanking, letters, postcards, organizing, mobilizing, backroom, messaging, voter registration, Swing Left, Indivisble, the DNC, CADEM, rallies, protests, etc. An enthusiastic leader may flood you with information and yet you still don't how to help.

The secret? Sign up and show up. Whether it’s a training, a seminar, a letter party, or a canvass, jump in. You’ll meet people, learn lingo, pick up new skills, and discover more ways to contribute. Chat with organizers and try a few groups until you find the right fit for your passions and talents.

Calling for Ground Truth

I made calls to Wisconsin. Ground Truth's approach is to call all voters, ask open-ended questions and listen. We're collecting information that will help campaigns address voters' concerns. I had several fascinating conversations, ones that gave me insights into how voters think outside the progressive bubble I live in. We had a great debrief after, for we talked about what we learned and how we could reach voters who think differently from us liberals, even though we have many of the same concerns. I'm looking forward to making more calls. – Bruce K, SLP volunteer.

Interested? Join others and make calls in a Swing Left Ground Truth phone bank. Sign up for a Wednesday or Sunday session here (training and support provided).

Guidelines for Contributing

Let's be thoughtful about our donations. Our contributions have a lot more impact, say, by funding a local campaign rather than a U.S. Senate candidate.

It's important to know who we're donating to. Some PACS, for example, are more interested in enriching themselves than helpng Democrats win elections.

We've developed guidelines for you. They're based on our experience as donors, fundraisers and activists. We've learned from countless seminars and debriefs. We've run the guidelines by experts in small-dollar fundraising.

Political contributions are important! They amplify voices and fund staff, offices, and voter outreach. They help sustain essential year-round organizing.

Support Victory in California's CA-22!

April 28th Fundraiser features Dolores Huerta

We're partnering with Central Valley Matters and raising money for three community-organizing groups in California's CD-22. Our April 28th fundraiser, “Supporting Victory in the Central Valley (CD- 22)," features Dolores Huerta and commmunity leaders. They will update us on what's happening in their communities.

Donations given now allow these groups to hire and train staff, develop voter contact programs and prepare for the influx of volunteers that will come later in the election cycle.

Fresno Ground Truth Canvass

Saturday, April 25

We're heading to Fresno in the Central Valley, to California's 22nd Congressional District ("CA-22"). We're going to converse with people at the doors, in support of Ground Truth strategy of "listening to" rather than "talking at" voters

We'll hear the concerns of residents across the political spectrum and use this information to turn out voters for Democrats in the midterms.

We'll canvass in Fresno the weekend of April 25th. Please join us - you can get more information and sign up here.

Fundraiser for DVC's July Opening

Features U.S. Rep Sam Liccardo on May 2nd

Join the Democratic Volunteer Center (DVC) for an in-person event featuring local Congress member Sam Liccardo.

The DVC, based on the San Francisco Peninsula, provides space and resources to elect Democrats and pass legislation at the local, state, and national levels. The Democratic Volunteer Center is staffed by volunteers and funded through individuals' donations. This event helps the DVC pay for the space they'll lease for the 2026 election cycle.

Grassroots groups that organize year-round in communities that have large working class, youth and people-of-color populations build long-term relationships and succeed in their communities in ways that candidates and outside groups cannot.

In 2024, grassroots groups were more likely to reach racially diverse, young, and infrequent voters than political parties and campaigns were. They were also more likely to communicate person-to-person, and they had significantly higher contact rates in key states. [MVP Report].

Donations to local groups that know their communities can be highly effective!
